Lake County Green Party Endorses Morgan Coghill for Congress
Mundelein, IL – Morgan Coghill’s campaign for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District has earned the official endorsement of the Lake County Green Party, marking a rare cross-party alliance built on shared commitments to peace, integrity, and people-powered politics.
“This endorsement means a lot because it’s about building a coalition of voters across the political spectrum who are sick and tired of establishment politics,” Morgan Coghill said. “Voters are hungry for something honest. The Greens and our campaign agree that corporate PAC money, endless wars, and the corruption that defines Washington have no place in a government that serves working people.”
The Green Party’s support brings a network of organizers, activists, and local leaders into the Democratic primary, helping to grow the campaign’s volunteer base and expand outreach to independent and younger voters.
“This kind of partnership gives us an edge,” Coghill continued. “It’s how you win a primary like this, by uniting voters across party lines who want justice, accountability, and a future that actually belongs to them.”
Meet Morgan:
Morgan Coghill is a proud Illinoisan, community advocate, and unapologetic dirt road Democrat. He is a successful small business owner who knows what it means to build something from nothing.
Raised in poverty and shaped by the struggles of working-class life, Morgan is running for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District to fight for economic justice, dignity, and a government that serves the people, not corporate donors.
Morgan was raised in an environment where every dollar mattered and every meal was hard-earned. Growing up, he knew what it meant to rely on food stamps and free lunch programs. Like so many kids in struggling families, Morgan remembers the quiet shame of handing a lunch ticket to the cafeteria worker and hoping no one noticed.
That experience never left. It’s why he has spent his life working to ensure others don’t have to navigate the same hardship alone.
His path wasn’t easy. He worked second and third shifts, endured thankless bosses, and built a future through grit, hard work, and a few strokes of luck. Along the way, he got to know the backbone of this country—plumbers, nurses, teachers, electricians, veterans, and single parents trying to stretch every paycheck.
Now, Morgan is running a people-powered campaign with no corporate PAC money and no strings attached. He’s stepping up because too many Democratic leaders have failed to stand their ground against Trump and the far-right forces tearing this country apart. Unlike the incumbent, who has taken thousands from special interests and corporate donors, Morgan is beholden only to the people of IL-10.
That means standing up for working families, demanding healthcare as a human right, protecting reproductive freedom, and building an economy that works from the bottom up.
Morgan lives in Mundelein with his wife and two children.
